LEXINGTON—Funeral services for Marguerite H. Taylor, 94, of Lexington, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Lexington Baptist Church, 308 E. Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072. The Reverend Jerry Freeman will be officiating. Burial will be private.The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 will be assisting the family. Mrs. Taylor, beloved wife of Jack N. Taylor, Sr. passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016.Born in Conway, SC, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Weston Harrison and Daisy Mae Edward Harrison.She was a member of Lexington Baptist Church and a former member of Chapin Baptist Church.In her younger years she enjoyed cooking, supporting her children in their school and college sports.She loved gardening; she grew beautiful Iris and daylilies. She was a member of the Dutch Fork and Shellback Senior Bowling League; she maintained a very high average until she was around 89 years old. Prior to meeting her husband she enjoyed jitterbug dancing and did it very well. She caught the eye of Jack Taylor, he said “she had the fastest feet he ever saw and he said he wanted to meet that girl”. They became dancing partners for life,November 26, 1938. They celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary in November 2015. Surviving in addition to her husband of 77 years, Jack N. Taylor, Sr. of Lexington; daughter, Bonnie T. Hook (Tom) of Elgin; sons, J. Nelson Taylor, Jr. (Margaret) of Columbia and Ed Taylor (Jean) of Columbia; ten grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice T. White.
