IRMO- A memorial service for Marguerite Blair Bouknight of Irmo will be held at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 1918 Shady Grove Road, Irmo, SC 29063, at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, with her nephews serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the Church immediately following the memorial service.A private Interment to be attended by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be held preceding the memorial service. Mrs. Bouknight, beloved wife of the late Heyward H. Bouknight, went to her heavenly home Saturday, September 5, 2015.She would have been 94 on September 8th. Born in Blythewood, SC, she was the daughter of Alvin L. and Ada S. Blair.She was a charter member of Virginia Wingard United Methodist Church and currently a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother (lovingly known as Nana), she is survived by her children, Heyward Bouknight, Jr. (Ivey) of Columbia and Gloria Jean Cook (Thomas) of Chapin; one sister, Shirley Blair Daniels (John) of Florence; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Blair and sisters, Louise Branham, Maude Frances Bouknight and Betty Sites. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Blue Ridge Hospice; Generations of Chapin and their loving caregivers and staff (especially Brianna Deans, Lynn Fulmer and Ryan Jackson); and Mrs. Dovie Reeves (home caregiver and longtime friend) for all their tender loving care and support during Mom’s long illness and battle with Alzheimer’s disease. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shady Grove Methodist Church, 1918 Shady Grove Road, Irmo, SC 29063, The Alzheimer’s Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd #100, West Columbia, SC 29169, or the charity of one’s choice. Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, is assisting the family with final arrangements.
