Marguerite E. Amick

WEST COLUMBIA—Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late George Adam Epting and Eula Elizabeth Long Epting.Marguerite was a longtime member of the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church and was a member of WELCA, as well as a member of Ladies and Men’s Sunday School Class.Mrs. Amick had worked for the Belk Department Store on Main Street for 30 years.She and her late husband, Ethan loved to travel visiting 48 of the 50 states in their time together. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Those who preceded her are her loving husband of 52 years, Ethan O. Amick, brothers, Leland, Hugh, Herman, Luther, Sylvian and William “Bill” Epting, sisters, Ruth E. Shealy, Myrtle E. Floyd, Lula Mae Epting and Blanche E.Ballentine. The family of Mrs. Amick would like to thank the doctors, nurses, CNA and all other staff at NHC – West Columbia, for their excellent care given during her years of residence. Funeral services for Marguerite E. Amick, 98, of West Columbia will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 1416 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29210 officiating will be Pastor John P. Trump and Vicar Todd Cook.Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will greet friends from 1-2:00 p.m. in the church parlor prior to the service. Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 1416 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29210 in Marguerite’s honor.
