Margaret Bass Cureton

Margaret Bass Cureton, 91, of Columbia, SC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2021.She was born on January 21, 1930, in Florence, SC to the late James Caleb Bass and Margaret Gandy Bass of Florence, SC.She was predeceased by her husband, John Bowers Cureton in 1988.Also, she was predeceased by her son, John Bowers Cureton, Jr., of Denver, NC; and her brother, James Caleb Bass, Jr. of Seabrook Island, SC. Mrs. Cureton is survived by sons, James Dale Cureton of Irmo, SC, Vance Bass Cureton of Lexington, SC; and grandchildren, Colin Bass Cureton and Kaitlyn Brice Cureton of Lexington, SC. Margaret was a 1950 graduate of Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.She was a member of Union United Methodist Church and the Aline Leitner Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Lillie Bouknight Davis Circle.Margaret loved painting, gardening, flowers, birds and animals.She also enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Margaret was a thoughtful, caring, and devoted mother, grandmother, and daughter. Services will be held at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.The memorial service will be followed by a burial at Bush River Memorial Gardens.The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church, 7582 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063 or Pets, Inc. 300 Orchard Drive, West Columbia, SC 29170.
