Lucy Moore

Chattanooga, TN—Grace Lucile Burt Moore, 95, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018. Lucy was born in Athens, GA on March 22, 1922 to the late Obie Clifford and Clyde Melton Burt. She retired from the VA Hospital with over 30 years of service. She moved to Columbia, SC in 1925 and lived there until 2011 when she moved to Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. She enjoyed sewing and painting, but above all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Jack Moore; sister, Inez Seyfer; brothers, ML Burt, Obie Burt Jr., Sam Burt; son, Bruce Moore; daughter-in-law, Linda Moore; and grandson, Joshua Moore. She is survived by her son, Jack (Barbara) Moore of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Susan (Tim) Gunter of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Jackie (Mike Blau) Moore, John (Kirsten) Moore, Kim (Bill) Martin, Jenny (John) Eaves, Anna (Jason) Leonard, Meghan (Mark) Herndon, Kaitlin Gunter, Timothy (Etta) Gunter, Caroline Gunter, Elyssa Gunter, Rebecca Gunter, and 16 great-grandchildren. The family received friends from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25 with services held at 7 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 8451 E. Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421, with Rev. Eric Mullinax, officiating. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, TN. On Saturday, January 27, 2018, the family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Funeral services for Lucy will be held at2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
