COLUMBIA—A graveside service for Louise Till Dodson Knotts, 98, of Columbia will be held at 2pm on Monday, September 22nd in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.The Reverend Dr. Fran Bragan, the Chaplain at the Presbyterian Home will officiate. Mrs. Knotts passed away on September 20th.Born in Lowndes County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Iva Gray Till and Vera Belle Bender.Louise graduated from Alabama College, now known as Montevallo University, where she majored in Home Economics and Science.Following graduation Louise taught home economics in Alabama.She and her husband moved to South Carolina where she taught fourth grade for many years. Louise was a dedicated member at Westminster Presbyterian Church where she volunteered for many projects at her church over the years.She was one of the founding members of the Capital Senior Center, now known as The Lourie Center, and a charter member of The Shepherd Center of St. Andrews. Her daughters, Paula D. Toal (Pat), Beth D. Brannon (Broadus); son, O. Price Dodson (Iris); grandchildren, Allison E. Brannon, Michael P. Brannon and Jason P. Field will remember her as a wonderful, dedicated mother and grandmother. Louise’s memory will also be cherished by nieces and nephews she had remained close to throughout her life.She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Price Dodson, second husband Thomas E. Knotts, brother Arthur Gray Till, and sister Bertha Till Thompson. The family would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the caregivers at the Presbyterian Home and Blue Ridge Hospice.
