Loretta Proctor

Loretta Proctor, 80, of Irmo, passed away on Thursday September 7, 2023. She was born on September 24, 1942 in Columbia, South Carolina, to John Nolan Lybrand and Carmen Johnson Lybrand. Loretta attended the old Columbia High School. She was raised in the Basilica of St. Peter in Columbia. After marrying her husband, Gary, she lived the military life for 22 years as a spouse and a stay-at-home mother to her four children and their pets. Loretta was an avid bowler, loved to read, work crossword puzzles and had a large collection of jigsaw puzzles that she enjoyed putting together. Loretta is survived by Gary, her husband of 63 years and their four children, Timothy Proctor (Robin): Lori Arthur (Mike); Mike Proctor (Lou Ellen); and Tracy Byrd (Michael). Loretta also leaves nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and the family dog, Tucker. Loretta was predeceased by her parents; her brother, John Nolan Lybarnd and her sister, Linda Dittmer. Private services will be held for Loretta who will be laid to rest on September 11th at Bush River Memorial Gardens.
