Loreene "Lory" Holtz Weed

Loreene “Lory” Holtz Weed, 75, of Johnsonville, SCformerly of Columbia, passed away on June 2, 2018. Mrs. Weed was the daughter of the late William Holtz Sr. and Mrs. Myrtle McMichael Holtz. Lory was the loving wife of Carmel Rudy Weed Sr., for 53 years. Mrs. Weed proudly served in the United States Air Force.She worked for the South Carolina Department of Corrections for 32 years.Lory was also a faithful member of St. Andrews Road Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, and a son, Karen Moody (Mike), Carmel Rudy Weed Jr., (Suzy) all of Montgomery, AL,Karla Herron (Christopher) of Johnsonville, SC. Six grandchildren, Michael and Cole Moody; Griffin, Laney, and Ella Weed; and Savannah Herron.A sister, Joan Hinerman, of Winchester, KY. One brother, William Holtz Jr. (Karen) of Fort Myers Beach, FL.A sister in law, Judy Nash (Henry) of Chapin, SC. Mrs. Weed is predeceased by her parents and one sister, Phyllis Holtz. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Road Church of Christ, 425 St. Andrews Road Columbia, SC 29210. Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The family will greet friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Bible Camp in care of St. Andrews Road Church of Christ, 425 St. Andrews Road Columbia, SC 29210.Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family.
