Lois "Diane" Nichol

With the saddest of hearts, we announce the passing of Lois Diane Nichol of Chapin, South Carolina, on Sunday, July 9, 2023. After a long, hard-fought battle with terminal cancer, Diane, 75, passed away in the comfort of her home with her husband and daughters by her side. Diane was born in Columbia, South Carolina, to the late Annie Mae Peake Mock and Henry Lawson Mock. She was a retired cashier at Chapin Elementary School. She is survived by her husband of 54 years: Joseph Vaughan Nichol; her two daughters: Hollie Strange (Chevis) and Brittney Gallman (Lee); her grandchildren, Haylee and Payton Imbaratto, Kaden, Rhett, and Elliot Gallman, and Tripp Strange. Diane is also survived through her sisters: Cindi Jager, Kathy Endicott, Carol Southern, and Donna Mock, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Sherry Shannon, Robin Mock, and Mike Mock. Diane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, "Mimi,” sister, and friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her often described her as "the strongest woman they knew.” A truly amazing woman with a spunky personality who loved unconditionally and with her whole heart. She will truly be missed Those serving as pallbearers include: Chevis Strange, Jr., Lee Gallman, Kaden Gallman, Payton Imbaratto, Tripp Strange, Walker Gainey, Rhett Gallman, and Elliot Gallman. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC, 29212, Friday, July 14, 2023, at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Terry Amick officiating.
