Linda Page Norwood, 75, of Columbia, SC passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 13, 2023. Linda was born on February 7, 1947 to George and Anna Page Dawson in Hamlet, NC. After graduating from Hamlet High School in 1965, she joined the workforce. A few years later on September 6, 1968, Linda married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, William (Bill) Lee Norwood. Throughout the next 55 years of marriage, she and Bill built a wonderful life and beautiful family together. They adopted their son Justin in 1982 and their daughter, Katie Page, was born in 1983. With a one year old and a newborn, Linda decided to dedicate her life to being a loving and devoted full-time mother. Upon moving back to Columbia in 2003, Linda worked at the South Carolina Department of Education, where she retired in 2016. Linda had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing at the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier in Cherry Grove, SC and camping in Blowing Rock, NC. A true southern belle at heart, you also never saw Linda without her hair done, makeup on and her vivacious smile. She never met a stranger and spent most spring, summer and fall nights swinging on her front porch and chatting with neighbors walking their dogs. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Linda is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Lee Norwood of Columbia, son Justin Lomax Norwood of Hartsville, SC, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Katie Page and Andrew Wampler and Anna Katherine Ferguson of Johnson City, TN, and sister Libby Steinberg of Spartanburg. Linda is preceded in death by her infant twin sons David Patrick Norwood and Douglas Lomax Norwood.
