Linda L. Haskell

Columbia—Funeral service for Linda L. Haskell, 78, of Columbia, will be held at2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd, Irmo, SC 29063. Officiating will be Dr. Tim Phillips and Reverend Tim Hawkins. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Temples Halloran Funeral Home will be assisting the family. Linda was born April 3, 1938 in Pacolet, SC and died April 3, 2016.She was the daughter of the late Walter Parker and Ettie Jones Parker.She graduated from Pacolet Mills High School and graduated from Newberry College with a degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Haskell later taught at Pacolet Mills Schools as well as Fairfield County Schools. Linda was a loving wife and mother.She was an active and faithful member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and the AGAPE Sunday School class, where she formally served as President of the class.Linda organized groups to volunteer at area nursing homes, as well as serving on the weekly church prayer ministry.Her weekly highlight was her participation in the OASIS Senior Ministry program at Riverland Hills. Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Bishop (Alan) of Catawba, SC; son, David Haskell (Lula Mae) of Memphis, IN; two grandchildren, Abby Dial (Andrew) and Michael Bishop.Those who preceded her in death, late husband, Norman Haskell, Jr., sisters, Catherine and Sue Parker and a brother, Dennis Parker.
