LEXINGTON—Memorial service for Linda Joyce Eddings, known as Joyce to her friends, 63 of Lexington, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2015 in Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063. Reverend Dr. Ed Carney and Reverend Wayne Cole will officiate.The family will greet friends following the service at the church in the fellowship hall. Mrs. Eddings, beloved wife of Eddie Eddings, together for 28 years, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Lela Mae Morrison Carter and the late James E. Carter.She was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. She possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith.Her faith in God and Jesus’ salvation was unwavering. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking will never be forgotten. Joyce shaped her family’s faith through her tireless Christian example. She was known for her ease in conversation, even with strangers. Surviving are her husband, Eddie Eddings; mother, Lela Carter; daughters, Alana Bledsoe and Melanie Ruder (Chris); son, Creighton Eddings (Lee); grandchildren, Ethan, Callan Eddings and Emilyn, Paislee Ruder; sister, Frances Wooten (Mickey). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to the Riverland Hills Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063.
