Leslie O. Bradstreet

September 7, 1956 — December 21, 2022

Leslie Orin Bradstreet, 66, passed away in his home on December 21, 2022, leaving his memory to cherish for his family, friends ranging from those close to him in Columbia to the Peplinski family in Scotland. His friends were like his family and he especially adored his grandchildren. Les was born in Charlotte, NC, on September 7, 1956. He was the son of the late Cecil Bradstreet, Jr., and Helen Jeannette Brown (Bradstreet). His dad’s career with Eastern Airlines took the family around the U.S. and Canada, eventually setting roots in Columbia. Les learned to play golf at a young age from his brother, Cecil. His love of the game began there and blossomed into a lifetime passion. He had the opportunity to play on such courses as Torrey Pines, the site of the Annual PGA Tour Tournament, and the 2008 U.S. Open. Les and his first wife Liz became “regulars” in Scotland taking an annual trip each July from 2006 - 2018 during Open Championships. They added friendships each year and forged a special relationship with the Peplinski family. There were treasured pictures taken of which one was posing with Tom Watsons’ Five Open Championship Trophies. While another featured Les and Liz on the famed Swilcan Bridge on the Old Course at St. Andrews. Les will be remembered by his wife, Glenda W. Bradstreet; daughter, Laura Bradstreet Najim; son, Aaron Bradstreet; brother, Cecil Bradstreet (JoAnne); grandchildren, Ellis Harper Najim and Elia Rose Najim; nephew, Cecil Bradstreet; niece Becky Bradstreet Bean and a great niece and nephew, Macy and Bradley. Besides his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Elizabeth E. Bradstreet. The memorial service to celebrate Les’ life will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. The Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. In remembrance of Les, donations can be made to the Youth on Course Foundation at youthoncourse.org or 30 Ragsdale Drive Suite 201, Monterey, CA 93940.
