Larry Eugene Skidmore

Larry Eugene Skidmore, 77, of Irmo, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Born October 7, 1940 in Charlotte, NC. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Miriam Mulligan Skidmore of the home; daughter, Lynn Skidmore of Greenville SC, and son, Bill and daughter-in-law, Meredith Skidmore of Columbia SC; two grandsons, Matthew (Ashlin) and Adam (Lindsey) Skidmore; sister, Dee (Tom) Crayton of Charlotte, NC.He was predeceased by his parents, Obart and Ruth Teague Skidmore. Larry retired from SC Dept of Corrections and UPS. He also worked for The Koger Center, and Midlands Tech as an instructor. Together with Miriam they ran Candlelight Video in Lexington.He enjoyed playing golf, The North Carolina Tar Heels, John Wayne, Johnny Cash and The Andy Griffith Show. A graveside service for Larry Skidmore will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, Chaplain Philip Bradley will officiate. The family wishes to thank Heartstrings Hospice for their loving care and compassion the last few months.
