Columbia—Kristen Ashleigh Smith, 32, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in Columbia.Born in Columbia, SC, she is the daughter of Wendy Cheryl Wilson and Todd Smith. Kristen Smith graduated from Chapin Alternative in 2002, then she attended Midlands Technology College. Kristen worked many years in the service industry around Lake Murray and Chapin, she had spent time modeling and in advertising for Stanick Boxing. She also worked as an office manager for BIOMET in the Chapin area. In her spare time, Kristen had a passion for animals and her 3 fur babies; Chi Chi, Dynamite and Bentley.She loved staying active in the water and outdoors while living her life as a constant adventurer. Surviving are her mother, Wendy Cheryl Wilson; sister, Jessica Meng; half-sisters, Keely Dial and Kaylan Naughton; aunt, Lisa Wilson Lesnieski (Scott); uncles, Jason and Woody Wilson; cousins, Alana Keefe (Jesse), Jody Wilson, Miranda Lesnieski, Ashlyn Stogner and Heyward Truluck; maternal grandparents, Erma and Bill Wilson; paternal grandmother, Pat Smith; step-father, Charlie Meng and step-grandmother, Inez Meng. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Chapel of the Temples and Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 with The Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 652 Bush River Road, Ste. 211, Columbia, SC 29210.
