Kim S. Varney, 69, of North Myrtle Beach, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 12, 1955 in Burlington, North Carolina to the late Harry Eugene and Carmen Satterfield Varney. Kim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He worked in management in the textile industry and was a truck driver for nine years. Kim enjoyed classic cars, exploring antique shops, sports, boating, and spending time with his family. He was known by many as the Life of the Party and laughter was never in short supply. Those left to mourn his loss include his beloved wife of 26 years: Wendy Varney; daughter: Kasey (Casey) V. Marr; sons: Scott Varney and Taylor (Haley) Varney; step-sons: Curtis (Paula) Bean and Steven Bean; Summer; brother: Dean (Shelby) Varney; and his grandchildren: Sophia, Coleman, Paxton, Ryder, and Hudson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in the Chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29212. Dr. C. Clark McCrary, III will be officiating. The family will greet friends in the Chapel from 12:00 pm until the hour of service.
