Irmo—Kevin Robert Crim, 33, of Irmo died Saturday, January 7, 2017. Kevin was born in Lexington, SC on April 18, 1983 to Edward L. Crim and Anita M. Braun Crim. A memorial service for Kevin will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. East Lake Community Church, 10057 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC 29063.Pastor Steve Musto will be officiating.The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Kevin was a graduate of Chapin High School where he played on the varsity basketball team. He was an avid sports fan and strongly supported the South Carolina Gamecocks. His greatest loves were his rescue dog, Lattimore, who he unfortunately lost to cancer, and his precious nephew Max.He and Max had recently been spending a lot of time together playing basketball, on the trampoline and numerous other games that 3 year olds love.Kevin wanted to win as much as Max did and showed no mercy. Surviving are his parents;paternal grandmother, Helen F. Crim; maternal grandmother, Carolyn A. Braun; maternal grandfather, Max H. Braun; sister, Christie M. Crim; brother, Mark E. Crim; nephew, Max J. Hornsby, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.He also had a special connection to the Johnson family.He had many friends too who all remember him for his smile and his humor.He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Grover C. Crim. Memorials may be made in his name to East Lake Community Church for distribution to community programs for drug abuse education, recovery, and counseling.
