CHAPIN—Kenneth M. Lambert, Jr., 86 of Chapin, died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Palmetto Health Richland.Born in New Burlington, Ohio on November 19, 1930 he was the son of the late Lester Lambert and Dorothea Peterson Lambert. Ken began his 47 years career with N.C.R. in Dayton, Ohio and was later transferred to the West Columbia location.Where he worked as an engineer for many years.He was a member of the Chapin United Methodist Church over40 years and was also a dedicated member of Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class. Ken was a member of the Boyleston Masonic Lodge #123in Ballentine, SC and the Order of the Eastern Star,he served as the Grand Chaplain. He was known for his woodworking abilities and enjoyed fishing with his devoted wife, Carol. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carol I. Lambert of the home; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.Those who preceded him in death were 2 brothers, John and Lester Lambert as well as his parents. The Funeral services will be held at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036 at 12 noon, Monday, July 17, 2017 with The Reverend Jody Flowers and Reverend Paul Allen officiating.The inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2017 in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229 with military honors by the US Army. The family will greet friends from 11-12 noon prior to the service at the church.
