Kenneth "Ken" S. Carothers

Ken Carothers, age 60, of Buffalo Grove, Il passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022. He was the loving husband of Sandi for 36 years. He was the proud dad of Jamie, Scott (Courtney). Beloved Pa of Noah and Lilith Carothers. Dear uncle of many. Cherished brother-in-law of Debra (Chris) Hanaway, Cindy Russell, Pam Russell, Bill Russell, Tim (Pearl) Russell, Dave Russell, Kenneth Navy, brother of Kim Wooten. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Frank and Lena Jo Carothers, a twin brother, Keith Carothers, a sister, Karen Anne Navy, and a baby son, Christopher Carothers. Ken was a custodian for CCSD #21 for many years. He also worked for Sunnyside Corporation as a factory worker and later as a truck driver for Keenan Transit. He enjoyed golfing and bowling in his free time. Ken also enjoyed music, concert-going, and volunteering for Buffalo Grove Days for over 15 years. Ken proudly served in the United States Army. Ken dearly loved his family and his grands. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S Milwaukee Ave. Wheeling, IL. The Carothers family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, with US Army Military Honors.
