The memorial service and celebration of life for Kay L. Curl, 81, of Lexington SC, will be held at the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 5637 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina, 29212, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Kay was born in Akron, Ohio on January 29, 1941, to the late Charles and Louise Bally Haudenchild. She went home to meet her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 15, 2023. Kay grew up in Silver Lake, Ohio graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School, and attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin Ohio where she was enrolled in the College of Music and Theater. One of her favorite memories of Heidelberg was touring and performing with the Heidelberg Concert Choir and the singing of Handel’s Messiah. Kay exemplified a joyous and serving foundation built on Christ and was an original and longtime member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the church choir. She truly loved to put family, friends, and others first. Kay also served as a teacher in their Mothers Morning Out program that cared for area children. Her work career consisted of retail and customer service positions. Kay's true devotion and passion was loving and caring for her family. Surviving family includes: C.A. "Chuck" Curl, her loving husband of 62 years; sons: Mark C. Curl (Wendy) and John A. Curl (Sandra); daughter: Deborah Curl Chase (Scott); sisters: Sandy McVeigh, Sue Izant, and Charlyn Hitchcock; and granddaughter: Haley N. Curl.
