CHAPIN—Funeral services for Kathy Neil, 68, of Chapin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Officiating will be Reverend Jody Flowers and Reverend Paul Allen.Burial will follow in Chapin United Methodist Church Cemetery, 415 Lexington Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036.The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Neil, beloved wife of Randall “Randy” B. Neil, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.Born in Tyronza, AR, she was the daughter of the late Donald Drace and Willie Faye Gill Drace.As a member of Chapin United Methodist Church for 31 years, Kathy served as the Financial Secretary.She was a member of and treasurer for the Marjorie Derrick Circle.She embraced missions both locally and abroad, taking multiple trips to Jamaica and Costa Rica, where she started a sewing class that changed the lives of many.Kathy enjoyed being a part of 2 bridge groups and socializing with her closest friends “The Lake Rats” for over 30 years.Among her happiest moments were the joyful times she spent with her 5 grandchildren, who loved her dearly.Kathy loved her family, her church and her friends; she lived life with lots of energy and a servant's heart. Surviving in addition to her husband of 31 years, Randy Neil of Chapin; daughter, Holly Hodges and husband, Trey of Chapin; sons, Bryan Neil of Charlotte, NC, Bart Chandler of Pineland, SC and Corey Neil and wife, April of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Claire and Lindsay Hodges; Ainsley, Carter and Meredith Neil; sister, Donna Palmer and husband, Ronnie of Cherokee Village, AR; brother, Joe Drace of Tyronza, AR; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Drace.
