Katherine (Kitty) L. Kovach

Katherine Lynn Kovach (Kitty) was reunited with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 4th, 2023. Kitty absolutely loved working in her yard and garden. Her immediate family was blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with her in her backyard oasis one last time before her passing. Kitty was born in Albany, New York, on November 6th, 1948. She was raised in a military family and had the pleasure of traveling the world as a child living in many countries across multiple continents. In her young adulthood, Kitty went to school to become a Registered Nurse. After graduating nursing school, Kitty worked as a nurse in Chicago before joining the United States Air Force Medical Service. Kitty served in the Air Force Medical Services as a nurse for four years and landed in Ogden, Utah, at Hill Air Force Base for her final duty station. Kitty found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints shortly after moving to Utah. Kitty spent the rest of her life serving the church and had a strong connection to her genealogy work. In retirement, Kitty loved volunteering at the Columbia, SC, Temple on a regular basis. All of Kitty’s time in retirement was spent toward her temple work, her beautiful yard oasis, and her grandchildren that she loved. Kitty is survived by her only child and son, David Kovach, and his wife Sara, and her five grandchildren, Janika, Jaxen, Jaiden, Maverick and Daniel. A visitation will be held in honor of Kitty on June 13th at 4PM followed by a memorial service at 6PM located at 7449 Broad River Rd, Irmo, SC 29063.
