Columbia—A graveside service for Judy Marie Hawkins Hix, age 77, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m.Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.The Reverend Wayne Cole will officiate.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Judy, beloved wife of George Y. Hix, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016.Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Frances Hawkins.She was an Registered Nurse at Providence Hospital for 40 years. Judy was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the Choir and loved her Sunday School Class.She loved to travel and visit her 4 grandchildren in California and Africa. Surviving in addition to her husband of 55 years, George Hix of Columbia; daughter, Georgia Wilson (Dan) of San Bernardino, CA; son, Chris Hix (Patty) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Cameron Marie, Connor, Joshua and Hanna Marie; brother, Terry Hawkins (Carole) of Anderson, SC along with many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a Disaster Relief Fund will be setup in honor of Judy to aid those in Hilton Head, see website for detail information.
