CHAPIN—Funeral services for Joyce L. Looney, 78, of Chapin will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2017 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Stephen Kolb, Jay Schumpert, Vince Moore, Michael, Mark, Matthew and Andrew Looney. The Reverend Beverly Taylor will officiate.The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the funeral home. Joyce passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, born in Carbondale, PA; she was the daughter of the late Ronald W. Gilroy and Bonita Bryden Wells. She retired from Allied Chemical for many years of service. Surviving are her daughters, Denise Amick (Richard) of Chapin and Debbie Roberts (Vince) of Batesburg;sons, Milton Looney (Donna) of Lexington, Mark Looney and Michael Looney both of Batesburg; sisters, Sharon Looney Irmo, Betsy Wells of West Columbia and Shirley Corrington of Carbondale, PA; brothers, Ronald Gilroy and Paul K. Looney of Carbondale, PA; 14 grandchildren, Blake, Andrew, Kayla, Matthew, Melissa Ryan, Aaron, Breanna, Jason, Amanda, Michelle, Michael, Joseph, Jimmyand Brittany and 13 great-grandchildren, Jenna, Coleman, Kaylyn, Dayton, Jacqueline, Madison, Cameron, Leila James, Mimi, Aiden, Caroline, Savannah and Lindy; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Looney, grandson, Blake and 2 brothers, Bobby and Freddie Gilroy.
