IRMO—A graveside service for Joseph Roland Lauziere, 83, of Irmo will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Mr. Lauziere passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Born in Dracut, Massachusetts he was the son of the late George Lauziere and Yvonne Morin Lauziere.He was a Korean War veteran serving in the Navy and stationed out of Norfolk, VA from 1951-1955. He sailed on Navy destroyers, USS Porter DD-800 and USS Greene DDR 711.Also, he later became a member of Tin Can Sailors, Inc. helping to refurbish ships.Joseph was a life-time member of Clifton BPO Elks Lodge 1569, Clifton, NJ and Past Exalted Ruler 1997-98.He continued his membership and fellowship with the members of this lodge even after moving to SC. He loved dogs and predeceased his devoted companion, "Piper", who he found at Pawmetto Lifeline. Surviving are his daughter, Faith Helene Reynolds (Frank M.) of Chapin; son, Stephen Joseph Lauziere (Brenda) of Batesburg; grandchildren, James Michael Reynolds and Stephanie Ann Lauziere.He was preceded in death by his sister, Therese L. Gendeau, a brother, Arthur Lauziere and the mother of his children, Marjorie Simmons Lauziere.
