Josh (Joseph Scott) Kerr

Joseph “Josh” Scott Kerr, 52 of Blythewood, SC passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Born on September 12, 1971, in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Margo Stalzer Kerr Dimmery and the late George Lee “Joby” Kerr, Jr. Josh was a long-time member of Ascension Lutheran Church. He was educated in Richland 2 schools and graduated from Spring Valley High School (Class of 1989). He worked for his family-owned business, Kerr Plumbing, from the time he was 16 years of age. Josh later became the owner and operator of his own plumbing company, Josh’s Plumbing. He also worked as a private contractor for Haliburton in Afghanistan. Josh enjoyed and excelled in many sports, which included playing baseball at Spring Valley High School, as a pitcher. He played softball for numerous teams, including Darrell’s Place; and played short stop for the All-World Softball Tournament Team, which came in 2nd place. He loved playing golf, bowling, and was an excellent chess player. He was an avid fan of the Carolina Gamecocks, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Philadelphia Phillies. Josh was a fun-loving man, with a great sense of humor, and he will be missed by many. Josh is predeceased by his father, George Lee “Joby” Kerr, Jr.; his grandparents, George Lee “Joe” Kerr, and Marceline Dease Kerr; John C. Stalzer and Aline “Mammie” Dent Stalzer. Josh is survived by his mother, Margo Stalzer Kerr Dimmery of Blythewood, SC; his daughter, Gracen Taylor-Marie Kerr of Clearwater, FL; his sisters, Marty Kerr and Kelly Kerr McKay (Brad); his brother, Justyn Kerr (Samantha); his aunt, Jolene Stalzer; his uncle, John Stalzer (Lynn); many cousins, nieces, nephews; and life-long friends, Scott Branham, Ty Barlow, Joey Roberts, Jim Harper and; as well as bird,” Willie,” and his loving cat, “Little Bit.” A memorial service for Josh will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., in the Temples-Halloran Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jackie Utley will be officiating the service. The family will visit with friends following the service.
