LEXINGTON—Memorial service for Joseph Henry “Joe” Williams will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Presbyterian Community Chapel, 700 DaVega Drive, Lexington, SC 29073.Reverend Dr. Ben Sloan will be officiating. Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 is handing all arrangements. Mr. Williams died on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Presbyterian Community.He was born on April 18, 1926 in Conway, SC, the son of the late Henry Tillman Williams and Luttie Martin Williams.After serving in the United States Navy in World War II he attended the University of South Carolina and remained a faithful Gamecock and member of the Big Thursday Club until his death.He was a Life Member of Masonic Lodge #281 FAM, a Shriner, a member of Lake Murry Presbyterian Church, and a Charter Member and Deacon of Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church. He previously owned Palmetto Realty, Carolina Realty, Beacon Hill Bottle and Party Shop, and Powder Horn Sporting Goods.He retired after 25 years from Richland Wholesale Liquors as a salesman. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois Jean “Lodi” Williams of the Presbyterian Community; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph R. “Randy” Williams and Sherrie Winter Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Larry Tillman Williams and Dee Camp of Spartanburg, SC, and Curtis Legere Williams of Columbia, SC; as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by a brother, Elvis and sisters, Naomi Lewis, Mary Edna Koerner, and Marvaden Graham.
