John C. "Jack" Limpert

COLUMBIA—A Mass of Christian Burial for John C. “Jack” Limpert, 78, of Columbia, will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Peter Sousa, CSsR, will officiate. Jack was born on January 17, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA, was the son of the late Claude Limpert and Emma Grace Kilpatrick Limpert.He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Chemistry degree in 1960 and for a majority of his professional career worked as a Fellow Engineer for Westinghouse Electric Commercial Nuclear Fuel Division and retired after 30 years of service. Jack enjoyed golfing, bowling, billiards, watching all sports, doing cross word puzzles and was an avid reader.Jack loved spending time with his family especially on holidays and vacations and was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Mary E. Limpert; sons, Eric Limpert (Allison) of Nazareth, PA, Paul Limpert (Robin) of Mason, Ohio and Kurt Limpert (Kelly) of Northville, Michigan; daughter, Jacquelyn Swingle (Halsey) of Chapin, SC; grandchildren, Emily, Jack, Tristan, Halie, Ashton, Luke, Shelby, Nick, Alexa and Noah; great-grandchildren, Marley, Charlotte, Harper and Norah.Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations in memory of John C.
