CHAPIN—Funeral services for John W. “Bill” Fowler, 86, of Chapin, will be held at 3:00 p.m., November 11, 2015 at Chapin United Methodist Church, 415 Lexington Avenue, Chapin, SC 29036, officiating will be Reverend Jody Flowers and Reverend Paul Allen.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends following the burial in the church fellowship hall. Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 will be assisting the family. Mr. Fowler, beloved husband of 65 years to Margaret Fowler, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015.Born in Florence, SC he was the son of the late John Mack Fowler and Mary Myrtle Evans Fowler. He proudly served in the United States Navy and also attended the University of Miami where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Mr. Fowler was a Shriner and a Mason for 45 years.He and his wife were members of Chapin United Methodist Church for over 30 years.His career spanned41 years when he began his career with Southern Bell then later with BellSouth and lastly with AT&T, where he retired as a District Engineer.Mr. Fowler always put God and his family first.He was an avid woodworker andClemson Tigers fan. Surviving in addition to his wife, Margaret Fowler of Chapin; daughters, Peggy F. Humphreys (Charles) of Charlotte and Patti Fowler of Columbia; son, John W. “Bill” Fowler, Jr. (Hilary)of Naperville, IL;grandchildren, Melissa Duncan (Damon) and Kelly Flournoy (Ryan) all of Greensboro, NC, Nikhil, Milan, Keya and Brij Fowler all of Naperville, IL; great-grandchildren, Brooks Duncan and Addison Flournoy.Those who preceded him in death are his sisters, Marie Fowler and Ruby Dickerson and a great granddaughter, Hadley Flournoy.
