John Kirkwood "Woody" Burch, Jr., son of the late John Kirkwood Burch, Sr., and Kathryn Cooper Burch, was born in Columbia, SC, on April 5, 1943, and entered into eternal rest on September 14, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center. He was a 1961 graduate of Eau Claire High School, a retiree of the United States Postal Service, and an employee of Northwoods Golf Course for more than twenty years. He served in the Air National Guard at McEntire Air Base for six years. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Leola Moorer Burch; his son Kerry Brent Burch; brothers, Thomas Cooper Burch and Van Lomas Burch (Rebecca); and other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his youngest brother, Paul Lawrence Burch. While his health permitted, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, Clemson football, watching sports television, attending auctions, making clocks and bird feeders, and working on his little "inventions." He also enjoyed riding his golf cart in the backyard, tending his many bird feeders, and trying to outsmart the squirrels that wreaked havoc on said feeders. In keeping with his wishes, a private burial will be held at a later date.
