Jodie Leegil Wilson, 32, of Columbia was born on April 16, 1992, and departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Survived by her grandparents, Erma and Bill Wilson; daughter of the late Jason Gilmore Wilson and Jackie Dwyer Kyzer, her sister, Kassidy Kyzer, her aunts, Lisa W. (Scott) Lesnieski, Wendy Wilson, and Jamie Dwyer, and uncle William C. “Woody” Wilson; cousins, the late Kristen Smith, Jessica Meng, Amber Keisler, and Miranda Lesnieski. Her soulmate of nearly eight years, Ryan Hamilton, will always hold the key to her heart. She was raised by her grandparents, with whom she shared a special and cherished connection. They provided her with love, guidance, and unwavering support throughout her life’s journey. She was also able to return this act of love by assisting in their care the past couple of years. Jodie was a graduate of Dutch Fork High School, Class of 2010, where she participated in chorus and stayed active in her church youth groups. She valued her connections with family and friends, always making time for meaningful conversations and heartfelt moments. Despite her struggles, she was able to find humor in even the darkest moments that brought light and laughter to those around her. She will always be remembered for her remarkable combination of cleverness, wittiness, and charm. Jodie had a deep and abiding faith with the Lord that gave her strength in times of need. Her relationship with God was a source of comfort and inspiration grounding her in love and compassion. May she find peace in the embrace of eternity. The memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The Wilson family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a gift to Addiction Abuse Center or Opioid Epidemic Crisis be made in Jodie’s memory.
