Jimmy Cook

Jimmy Cook, 84, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. He was born to James H. and Alice Cooper Cook in Robbinsville, North Carolina on August 5, 1940. Jimmy proudly served 20+ years in the United States Army. He retired in 1977 as a Sergeant First Class (SFC). Jimmy attended Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Irmo, SC. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Calma Schnirring Cook; his daughters, Terry Wimburn, Michelle Blanton (Mark), and Joi Wolf (Brian); and his sons, Richard Berger, Victor Berger (Brenda), Samuel Berger, Wesley Berger, and David Cook (Constance); and his sister, Betty Sue King. Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, Sascha Berger. Visitation will be held at Temples - Halloran Funeral Home on Tuesday August 13th, from 4:30-5:30. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 14th at 11:00. Pastor Walter J. Harper will officiate.
