Jeremiah "J" Devon Ambrose

August 7, 2018 — January 1, 2025

“A precious life too short, an immeasurable love that will never fade”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious son Jeremiah “J” Devon Ambrose. Jeremiah was born on August 07, 2018 in Foley, Alabama to his loving parents, Davares & Haileigh Ambrose.

Jeremiah gained his angel wings on January 01, 2025 cradled in his mother’s arms, following a courageous battle with DIPG. Jeremiah spent his final days at home surrounded by his family & friends whom adored him dearly.

Jeremiah’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understand that the quality of his existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which he lived. His sweet smile would melt the hearts of those around him, and his little voice & big thoughts would always be heard.

Jeremiah was a spunky, fun loving 6-year-old with a personality that was truly larger than life. Jeremiah loved all things Spider Man. He loved spending his time doing anything outdoors. He enjoyed swimming, football, and being at the softball field with his family, cheering on his big sisters. He lived his best life being bare-footed & shirtless. He loved his monster trucks, especially when he could race them through the mud. At the end of the day, he (thankfully) loved his bathtime and playing with all his bath toys.

Even though his battle with DIPG was a tough one, Jeremiah continued to show his strength, perseverance, and ability to smile even on the bad days.  With his passing, we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. His mighty little presence reminded us that each day is a blessing, and an opportunity to create everlasting memories. Although we will miss him every single day, he will forever live within all our hearts.

Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Davares & Haileigh Ambrose, sisters Adelynn Broughton & Kallie Ambrose, Paternal grandparents Sheila & Marcus Ambrose, Maternal grandparents Don & Christine Williams, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jeremiah was predeceased by his great grandparents Horace & Wilmer Odom.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of Jeremiah’s care team both here in Columbia & at St. Jude in Memphis. We would also like to thank all our family, friends, and the community for all the love & support we have been given during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday January 18, 2025, at LifeSprings Church located at 5630 Platt Springs Rd. Lexington, SC 29073. In honor of “J,” we would love for everyone to wear their favorite Spider Man attire or colors.

Instead of sending flowers, the family requests donations in Jeremiah's memory be made to the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation .

Temples-Halloran Funeral Home is caring for the family during this difficult time.
