Jennings "Braxton" Marlowe

The funeral service for Jennings “Braxton” Marlowe, 86, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Reverend Tim Larrimore will officiate. Braxton was born in Horry County, SC on October 15, 1936, to the late Paul Marlowe and Geneva Watts Marlowe. He passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at MUSC surrounded by his loving family. Braxton retired from Michelin Tire, after many years of dedicated service. He loved woodworking and dancing, especially Shagging. Braxton was a former member of Capital City and Palmetto Shag Clubs and was always on the go. Survivors include his daughter, Donna Mooney; brother, David Marlowe (Gail); grandson, Cory Busbee (April); three great-granddaughters, Caylee, Adin, and Cambree Busbee; special friend, Kathy Ashley; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Braxton was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hazel Weaver and Rosalie Richardson; brother, Bruce Marlowe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Braxton’s honor to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Ste 301, Cayce, SC 29033.
