Mrs. Jennie L. McInvale Meetze, 89, of Chapin, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Jennie was born in Prattville, Alabama to Edward Leslie and Lilly May Sanford McInvale on May 31, 1935. She was married in 1954 and had three children. She was a homemaker who loved to garden and crochet. She loved music, played piano and the autoharp and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Columbia, SC where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years and served in the nursery as often as she could. Jennie is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Fred C. Meetze, Sr.; her son, Gilbert Edward Meetze of Columbia; her great grandson, Coleman Amick of Pomaria, SC; her father and mother, her siblings, Edwina Ball, Patricia Franklin and Howard McInvale, all of Birmingham, Al. Jennie is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Sherry) Meetze Drennan, of Chapin; her son, Fred C. Meetze Jr. of Columbia; her grandchildren, Leslie Barnes of Camden, SC; Amy (RJ) Burke of Pomaria, SC, Matthew Drennan of Chapin, SC, her great grandchildren, Dayton Amick and Fisher Burke of Pomaria, SC; Hailey Barnes of Camden, SC; her niece, Marie (Doug) Turner of Pine Mountain, AL, great niece, Amanda (Chad) Davis, and great-great nephew, Turner Davis of Remlap, AL.; her great nephew, Steven Turner; as well as her nephew, Knox (Buddy) Franklin (Donnette) and great niece Jillian Franklin, all from Birmingham, AL A service for Jennie on June 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Bush River Memorial Gardens.
