Jeanette "Caz" Jacobs

A Celebration of Life service for Jeanette Castro “Caz” Jacobs, 56, of Irmo will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, S.C. 29212.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Deacon Tom Souza will officiate. Caz was born on July 17, 1965, in Chicago, IL to the late Dr. Juan Advincula Fagtanac and Emerita Castro Fagtanac.She passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Jeanette’s parents moved to the United States from the Philippines in 1972 to practice medicine.The family eventually settled in Columbia, S.C. Caz attended the University of South Carolina. She was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Jeanette taught preschool at Redeemer Lutheran Church for many years and loved working with all of the children during her years of service.She married the love of her life, Mack Jacobs, on May 7, 1987.Before having children, Mack and Caz were very adventurous: they loved the outdoors, riding motorcycles, camping and traveling. They also loved the South Carolina Gamecocks and they loved attending Gamecock Football games.Although it took her over 20 years to understand football she would never miss a game. After having children, Jeanette found a love for all types of art: painting, drawing, crafting, and especially making jewelry and scarves for family. Caz loved spending time with her family and her greatest gift besides her love was her infectious smile. Survivors include her husband, Mack Douglas Jacobs; daughter, Jessica Ashley Jacobs; son, Mack Dalton Jacobs; sister, Lovelle Nguyen (Ty); brother, Steven Furie (Jennifer); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, S.C. 29210.
