Jay "Tim" Francis Bryant

The funeral service for Jay Francis “Tim” Bryant, 81, of Chapin, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, in the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt officiating.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to the hour of service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.Serving as Pallbearers will be Tim Riehm, Chuck Riehm, Blake Bryant, Parker Bryant, Nathaniel Brunson and George Bryan on the day of the service. Tim was born in Boston, Mass. on January 11, 1938, and passed away on April 8, 2019.He was the son of the late John Walden Bryant and Kathryn Herrick Murphy Bryant. He was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and later Lake Murray Presbyterian Church. Tim graduated from Spartanburg High School and attended Clemson University, where he played for coach Bill Wilhelm as a member of the First Clemson University Baseball Team to go to the College World Series, in 1958.Tim was an avid sports fan, who also loved playing the drums, living life at the lake which was affectionately named “Shangri-La”, and shag dancing with the love of his life, “Lady Di”. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Riehm (Chuck) of Anderson, SC; son, Tim Bryant, St. Petersburg, FL; brothers, Chip Bryant (Lori) Sun Valley, Idaho and Charlie Bryant (Karole) Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Ali Riehm McKinsey (Bobby). Tim Riehm, Blake Bryant and Parker Bryant; and his beloved Cat, Baby Boy. Those who have preceded him in death were his parents and his wife, Diane Alexander Bryant. The Bryant Family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care given by Dorothy Moore, Nathaniel Brunson, Sugar Davis, and Trenton Scott.
