The memorial service for Jason Gilmore Wilson, 53, of Columbia, will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt, officiating. The Wilson family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday with the service to follow. Jason was born in Columbia, SC on August 5, 1968, and passed away on January 24, 2022.He is the son of William C. “Bill” and Erma Hydrick Wilson. He is survived by his parents, daughter, Jodie L. Wilson; sisters, Lisa Wilson Lesnieski (Scott), Wendy Wilson, and Pamela Ellis (Mike); brother, William C. “Woody” Wilson; nieces, Jessica Meng and Miranda Lesnieski. Maternal cousins, Alana Keefe (Jessie), Ashlyn Stogner of Columbia, and Heywarde Truluck of Surfside Beach, SC. Those who proceeded him in death were his niece, Kristen Smith, and aunt, Dorothy H. Moorer, and cousin, Rosemeri Truluck of Lake City. Jason graduated from Chapin High School in 1986. He grew up on Lake Murray where his love for fishing and the outdoors flourished. He was a creative spirit of photography and music. Nature and wildlife enthusiast, his love for people was even greater than his passion for any reptile.Jason never met a stranger. He was the life of every party. While he struggled late in his life, he was a constant caregiver and help for his parents and family. His pride and joy will forever be his daughter, Jodie with whom he shared a loving and close relationship. He spent almost two decades in Atlanta establishing his successful trade of commercial installations of bathroom partitions. He also detailed aircrafts while in Georgia. While living with his parents, he proved himself a “master of all trades”.He will always be missed and live on in our hearts and minds forever.
