Blythewood—The funeral service for Jan G. Dimmery, 65, of Blythewood, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at International Praise Church, 5071 Percival Road, Elgin, SC 29045 with Bishop B. Doyle Roberts, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church.Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229. Jan G. Dimmery, beloved wife of Mike Dimmery, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.Born in Columbia, SC on November 16, 1951, she is the daughter of Jo Ann Crews and the late Ira Judson Gibbons. Jan Dimmery was educated in The South Carolina Public School systems and later attended Midlands Technical College. Jan was the Finance and Accounting Manager at Matrix Scientific for the past 14 years. She loved her job and her co-workers. Jan loved Christ and she loved life. She enjoyed fishing and spending time at the beach, but her two favorite hobbies were spending time with her family during the holidays and sitting on her front porch enjoying nature. Jan always saw the best in everyone and could always make any situation feel better. Her smile and her laughter could brighten any room and that is what we will miss the most. Surviving in addition to her husband of 34 years, Mike; daughters, Amy and Kimberly Patton of Columbia; step-daughter, September Witherspoon of Lexington; son, Phillip J. Patton, Jr. (Stephania) of Lugoff; sister, Frances Richardson (Bobby) of Blythewood; brothers, Daniel Gibbons and George Gibbons (Eleanor); step-mother, Beatrice Gibbons; 10 grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members. Those who have preceded her in death besides her father, are a daughter, Jennifer Ann Patton and a step-son, Sean Dimmery.
