James M. Oliver

James Michael "Mike" Oliver, 81, of Columbia, passed away on October 18, 2024 at his home in Lexington County, SC. He was born on February 1, 1943 in St. Matthews, SC. Mike was the son of the late Peter Michael Oliver and Margaret Wise Oliver. Honarably, Mr. Oliver served in the United States Air Force and the National Guard. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina. He was an avid "Gamecock" fan and dearly loved his cats. His friends and family describe him as charming and notably "A Character". James was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Michael Oliver and Margaret Wise Oliver; his wife, Martha Shull Oliver; and one brother, Kenneth Leon Oliver. He will be remembered by his two daughters: Cara Oliver Drumheller (Adam), Natalie Oliver Mubarak (Chris); seven grandchildren, Aubrey Waddill Baur (Bryce), Wade Waddill , Turner Waddill, Cannon Mubarak, Baylor Mubarak, Peyton Mubarak, Larkin Mubarak; two great grandchildren, Mila Baur and Maeven Baur.
