James "Jim" O. Lowe

COLUMBIA—Funeral services for James O. “Jim” Lowe, 77, of Columbia, will be held at 3:00 pm. Sunday, August 30, 2015 at St. Andrews Baptist Church, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. Dr. Ronald D. “Dee” Vaughan will officiate. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Honorary pallbearers will be the Judy Mills Sunday School Class.The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.Temples Halloran Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mr. Lowe, beloved husband of Sue Lowe, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.Born in Tazewell County, VA, he was the son of the late Isaac Cunningham Lowe and Danah Shell Lowe. Jim proudly served in the United States Army.In 1976, his family moved to Columbia, SC formerly of Columbus, Ohio. He worked for NCR and later worked for Square D Electric for 25 years, now known as Schneider Electric Company. His favorite pastimes were fishing and his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife of 53 years, Sue Lowe of Columbia; daughter, Lisa Sherer (David) of Columbia; son, Billy Lowe (Angela) of Columbia; eight grandchildren; sister, Betty Estep of Hopewell, VA; brothers, Ed Lowe (Carol) of Hopewell, VA and Paul Lowe (Debbie) of Princeton, WVA.
