Jackson "Jack" Lee Martin

Jackson Lee Martin “Jack” entered into rest on Saturday, June 25, 2022, after a short illness. Jack was born on June 23, 1943, to the late Jackson and Annie Catherine Martin of St. Albans, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill (Haney) Martin; sister, Karen Sue Stone; aunts, Emil Martin and Bethel Martin, who raised him. Jack graduated from St. Albans High School, St. Albans, WV, in 1961. He attended West Virginia State University, where he graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration. Jack worked as a District Sales Representative for Buhler Mills, Carnation Company, and Manna Pro Corp in the Agriculture Division. He was a faithful member of the Lake Murray Presbyterian Church in Chapin, SC. Jack is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Salango Martin; son, J. L. Martin (Laurie); grandchildren, Tyler Ryan Martin and Hannah Elizabeth Martin (Jordan); brother-in-law, Jim Salango (Tracy); brother, John Martin (Martha Ann); sisters, Jane Holland (Mike) and Mary Beth Chandler. Jack was a member of the Beni Kedem Shrines, 32° KCCH Scottish Rite, Putman Lodge 139, and Royal Order of Jesters in Charleston, WV. A Service Celebrating Jack’s Life will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, 2721 Dutch Fork Road, Chapin, SC. For those who wish to honor Jack with a donation, we ask you to consider the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, c/o Beni Kedem Shrines, 100 Quarrier St., Charleston, WV 25301. The family wishes to thank the Hospice staff of Amedisys Hospice for the loving care Jack received in his final days.
