Irene L. Epting

The memorial service for Irene L. Epting, 71, of Irmo, will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm. prior to the service. Irene was born August 28, 1950, in Columbia, SC, and passed away on October 26, 2021, at Lexington Medical Center.She was the daughter of the late John Gary Lucas, Sr., and Viola Sloan Lucas.Irene was a proud graduate of Swansea High School, Class of 1968.She retired from S.C. Credit Union League after many years of dedicated service.Irene volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House as well as Prisma Health Parkridge. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, James R. “Jimmy” Epting, Jr.; daughters, Tonia McGrew (Jon) and Tonya Clamp (Joey); son, James R. Epting, III; sister, Nancy L. Kitchens; brother, Joseph P. Lucas; precious grandchildren, Hunter and Katie-Ann Clamp; brothers-in-law, Robert A. Barber (LaNelle), Mike Barber (Susan), and Pat Barber (Becky); sisters-in-law, Lynn Barber, Karen Danielowski (Cas) and Debbie Lucas; mother-in-law, Mrs. Robert A. Barber, Sr., who she loved dearly, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.Those who preceded her beside her parents are brothers, Richard, William, and Jack Lucas; as well as sister, Emily Ann Lucas.
