Immanuel "Imm" Jansen

COLUMBIA—A funeral service for Immanuel “Imm” Jansen, 88 of Columbia, will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Temples Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212, with Father Peter Sousa officiating.The inurnment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Military Honors by the US Air Force. Imm was born on August 18, 1930 in Alameda, California, the son of the late Immanuel Jansen and Dorothy Paulsen Jansen.He passed away at the age of 88 on August 28, 2018.Mr. Jansen proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years where he received the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Good Conduct Medal.He was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.Imm formerly worked as a Chemical Research Engineer for Chevron Oil for 26 years while living in California. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Lynn B. Jansen; daughter, Sandra Jansen of El Sobrante, CA; son, Kevin Oliva (Christina) of Irmo, SC; grandson, Luke Oliva; beloved family dog, Shawn.Those who preceded him in death, besides his parents, were step-son, Darin Oliva; two sisters and brothers.
