Ida Kathryn "Kathy" Stone

IRMO—Graveside service for Ida Kathryn “Kathy” Stone, 87, of Irmo, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 in Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave., Columbia, SC 29201 with The Reverend Peter Sousa, C.Ss.R, Pastor will officiate. Born in Plattsburgh, New York on June 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George Francis Wells and Mary Frances Harvey Wells.Kathy previously worked for the President of Champlain College in Plattsburg, NY, then retired after many years of Management with the New York Telephone Company. She and her late husband, Donald brought and managed the Stepping Stone Resort in Lake George, NY.When they retired they moved to Melbourne Beach, FL. Surviving are her sisters, Geraldine Nero of Hudson, NY, Veronica Light and Carol Buckley of Plattsburgh, NY, Mary Collins of Columbia, SC; bothers, Reginald Wells of Plattsburgh, NY, Lawrence Wells of Melbourne Beach, FL, Charles Wells, Columbus, GA and James Wells of Melbourne Beach, FL along with many niece and nephews.Those who have preceded her in death besides her parents, the late husband, Donald Edward Stone; sisters, Sheila Schneider and Joan Harris. Kathy had been residing at Generation of Irmo.Her family appreciates all the help given by All Seasons Hospice who were with Kathy at her death.
