Mrs. Hettie Wicker Cross, wife of H. Lane Cross, mother to Michele Knotts and Greg Cross, entered the Church triumphant on August 26, 2023. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Columbia, SC surrounded by her loving family. Known for her generosity and servant's heart, Hettie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She had many interests and was very active. Hettie regularly enjoyed walking at the mall with friends, camping, playing canasta, shopping, traveling, tending to flowers, surrounding herself with family, worshiping and serving at her beloved church, and enjoying beautiful sunsets. Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by H. Lane Cross, her loving husband of 61 years, daughter Michele Knotts (William) of Bonneau, SC, son Greg Cross of Lexington, SC, granddaughters Miranda Knotts of Bonneau, SC, Kristen Cooper of Moncks Corner, SC, Malia Kasten (Holden) of Moncks Corner, SC, grandson Brent Knotts (Kayla) of Jamestown, SC, great-grandchildren Laken Thomas of Bonneau, SC, Brynlee Kasten of Moncks Corner, SC, Lane Knotts of Jamestown, SC, brother Kenneth Wicker (Sandra) of Chapin, SC, and sister Terri Gore (Howard) of Columbia, SC. Visitation for Hettie will be at Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC, on Thursday August 31, 2023 from 2-4 PM. The funeral will be at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 525 St. Andrews Road, on Friday September 1, 2023 at 2 PM. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Interment will be at Bush River Memorial Gardens mausoleum, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC at 4 PM.
