COLUMBIA—A graveside service for Henry C. McTeer, 85, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, 400 River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. The Reverend Mary Anderson will officiate. Mr. McTeer, beloved husband of 58 years to Connie “Mitzi” Neal McTeer passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017.Born in Sumter on March 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Clyde Manning McTeer and Caroline Morrison McTeer. Also he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Albert McTeer. He was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and a graduate of the Class of 1954 from Clemson University. He worked for Geoffrey Ladhams Associates as a Textile Consultant and later formed his own consultant company, McTeer Associates.Through his work he and his wife were able to travel and see many countries and cultures. He was a former President of White Hall Home Owners Association. He loved investing in the stock market, enjoyed watching NASCAR and Clemson Athletic programs and sports. He was a founding member of the Animal Protection League of SC. Surviving are his wife, Connie “Mitzi” McTeer of Columbia; niece, Tina Gray and husband, Charles of Columbia; great-niece, Kimberly Gray; sisters-in-law, Billie Schnabel and Mary Creeley; brother-in-law, Max Neal and wife, Earline. His beloved dog, Taco, and the late Bullet and Rico, who they rescued on a street in Puerto Rico.
