Haskell David "Bud" Williams

Haskell D. “Bud” Williams, 80, of Columbia, passed away on February 27, 2024. Born June 13, 1943, to OC and Hazel (Fulbright) Williams, Haskell was raised in Toccoa, GA. In 1982, Haskell moved his family to Columbia, SC where he worked as an independent contractor in fire and water restoration. As an active and much-loved member of Saluda River Baptist Church, he served on the Building and Grounds and Finance Committees. His favorite hobbies included fishing, pheasant hunting, watching sports, playing softball and basketball, and playing cornhole. He regularly participated in the Lexington Cornhole League, the Capital City Cornhole League, the SC Cornhole at the Coop, the PeeDee Baggers, and the Gilbert Baggers. Haskell is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joann (McElrath) Williams; his daughters, Donna Coffin (Byron, IV) and Melinda Vickers; his son, Jairus Williams (Stacey); his grandchildren, Samantha Johnson (Britt); Kelsey Vickers; Jessica Coffin; Byron Coffin, V (Luciana); Katie Pendleton (Graham); Kassidy Coffin; Landon Williams; Lance Williams; and his great-grandchildren, Cade, Dax, and Teegan; and his brother, Charlie Williams (Jackie) and sister, Sarah Garrett. Haskell was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail (Goss) Williams; his first son, Chan Williams; his sister, Evelyn (Williams) Meeks; and his parents, OC and Hazel Williams. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Saluda River Baptist Church. The Reverend John Yorio will officiate.
