Harriet Elizabeth Peoples

CHAPIN -Harriet E. Peoples, 92, of Camden and Chapin, was received by The Father Tuesday, August 14, 2018.Born September 16, 1925 in Charlotte, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Harry Williams and Margaret Orr Williams. Harriet met her husband to be, Bobbie, in Newport News, Va. while working for the WWII war effort.She was a secretary for the Navy Department.They were married on May 28, 1944.After moving to Charlotte, N.C. she worked at Redisco in the Finance Department.Later she retired from Brady Distributing Co., where she was secretary to owner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bobbie Wayne Peoples.Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Allen (Paul) of Chapin; brother, Gary Williams of Idaho; grandsons, Jeffrey Allen (Heather) of Chapin andRobert Allen of Winchester, Va.; great-granddaughters, Amanda and Allie Allen;and John Knox who was like a son to her for many years.In addition there are many loving family in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at Chapin United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Jody Flowers, on Sunday August 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm with visitation immediately following. A special thank you to the entire Compassionate Care Hospice Team and to “Her Team” of Anna, Brenda and Carrie Ann.
