IRMO- A Celebration of Life Service for Glenda Faye Metz, 50 of Irmo will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.Reverend Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home. Glenda passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Ray C. Metz and Patricia Austin Metz-Daughtry.She earned a Masters in teaching and was the media specialist at Fairfield Elementary, where she retired in 2013.Glenda loved animals and volunteered at Pets, Inc. in West Columbia.She was fascinated with the movie “Gone with the Wind” and often referred to herself as Scarlett O’Hara. She loved movies and reading. Surviving are her step-father, Mervil Daughtry of Irmo; sister, Ginger Hackett (Michael) of Chapin; brother, Russell Metz (Jaimi) of Jacksonville, FL; step-sister, Michelle Crews (William) of Korea; step-brother, Shawn Daughtry (Wendy) of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
